Bob Konchar is a member of Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC where he is engaged in an extensive litigation practice including employment, labor, transportation, products liability, commercial litigation and insurance. He handles cases before various federal and state courts and federal and state administrative agencies. These include, but are not limited to, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, state and city Civil Rights Commissions and the Iowa and Federal Department of Transportation. Mr. Konchar handles personal injury defense work for clients and their insurance carriers. He also defends businesses in insurance litigation maters. Further, he attends to various matters being arbitrated before the American Arbitration Association and the Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service.
Civil Litigation & Appeals Practice. Mr. Konchar has appeared numerous times before State and Federal courts defending a wide range of clients in several kinds of cases ranging from insurance defense, products liability, ERISA litigation, and construction and transportation related issues including liability and government regulations matters. Mr. Konchar has appeared numerous times before the Iowa Supreme Court, and the Eighth, Third, Seventh and D.C. Circuits as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals on issues arising from his practice.
Labor Employment Law. Mr. Konchar has appeared a number of times before the National Labor Relations Board, and federal and local civil rights agencies regarding a broad range of issues including discrimination, unfair labor practices, and issues arising from the drafting of company polices and procedures manuals. His practice includes obtaining temporary and permanent injunctions at the state level and temporary restraining orders and permanent injunctions in federal courts. His experience includes conducting negotiations related to collective bargaining agreements. Mr. Konchar has also appeared before the American Arbitration Association and Federal Mediation and Conciliatory Service.
Transportation Law. Mr. Konchar has appeared before state and local administrative agencies on a wide range of issues including licensing and obtaining authority for trucking companies to operate in interstate commerce. He also defends transportation businesses charged with various infractions of both state and federal law. His practice includes defending trucking companies and their insurance carriers in a full range of liability issues arising from the operations conducted by those transportation companies, including product liability issues.
