Dawn Gibson is an associate of Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC where she is engaged primarily in a litigation practice, including but not limited to labor and employment disputes, commercial litigation, civil litigation and appeals.
State and Federal Litigation Practice. Ms. Gibson represents and assists small and large companies and individuals regarding employment discrimination, commercial litigation, and in connection with state and federal administrative agencies.
Employer and Employee Counseling. Ms. Gibson advises clients regarding the drafting and implementation of policy, employment, and separation documents in compliance with federal and state laws, including but not limited to employee handbooks, confidentiality and non-disclosure, termination and severance agreements.
While in law school, Ms. Gibson was a member of the Journal of Transnational Law and Contemporary Problems and represented the University of Iowa College of Law as a member of the Baskerville Chicago Moot Court Team. After graduating from law school, Ms. Gibson pursued an LLM in Foreign and Comparative Law and worked as a Clinical Intern, and later as a Research Assistant, in the Iowa College of Law Legal Clinic, primarily in the area of Immigration Law. Ms. Gibson then served as Law Clerk and Courtroom Deputy to the Honorable John Jarvey during the end of his tenure as Chief Magistrate Judge for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Iowa and continued as Law Clerk when he was elevated to District Judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Iowa.
