David W. Kubicek is a member of Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC where he is engaged primarily in a commercial real estate transactional practice. He is a past member of the Board of Directors of Simmons Perrine PLC.

Commercial Real Estate. Mr. Kubicek represents clients in connection with the purchase, sale and leasing of commercial real estate. His practice also includes real estate development, condemnation, easements, title & title insurance issues, and miscellaneous real estate matters. He has represented clients in connection with several high rise office buildings, the development of an industrial warehouse, the financing of ethanol plants, the sale of an industrial complex, and the development of restaurant and other franchises within the state of Iowa.

Professional Honors. Mr. Kubicek has been a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers for over 20 years. He is one of only nine attorneys in the State of Iowa, and the only Cedar Rapids attorney who is a member of this prestigious real estate organization. He has been listed under the category of real estate for 25 years in Best Lawyers in America and he is one of only several attorneys in Cedar Rapids who is listed in this category. Further, he has been listed in Chambers USA for several years as one of the eight “leading” attorneys in real estate in the State of Iowa and the only Cedar Rapids attorney listed in this top category. Simmons Perrine is also listed by Chambers USA as one of the leading firms in real estate in the State of Iowa.

David Kubicek Honored by ISBA for Title Standards Committee Service

From the April 2010 issue of The Iowa Lawyer: "David W. Kubicek was recently honored by the [Iowa State Bar Association] for his 19 years of service as chair of the Title Standards Committee. He received a certificate and an engraved clock from Immediate Past President and current Real Estate Section Chair Dan Moore on March 5 in Des Moines. Under David's leadership, the Title Standards Committee drafted the seventh and eighth editions of the Iowa Title Standards, and conducted a complete review of the abstracting standards commonly referred to as the Blue Book."

Dave Kubicek Attends Mid-Year Meeting of American College of Real Estate Lawyers

David W. Kubicek recently returned from a mid-year meeting of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers ("ACREL") in Puerto Rico. Topics discussed at the meeting included wind leases, commercial lease issues in troubled times and title insurance issues, all areas of interest to Dave. The program included a presentation, with an emphasis on commercial real estate, by a representative of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond. Dave has been a member of ACREL for twenty years.
