Mark H. Ogden joined Simmons Perrine Moyer Bergman PLC in November 1994, having previously been a partner at the law firm of Pickens Barnes and Abernathy in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. After graduation from law school Mr. Ogden served for over three years as a trust officer in a local bank. Mr. Ogden has more than 28 years experience in the practice of law.
Mr. Ogden’s legal experience in the area of transactional law includes representation of large and small companies as well as individuals in tax, real estate, business planning and estate planning, trusts and estates. Mr. Ogden has represented many local lenders in commercial and residential real estate title matters and loan transactions.
Mr. Ogden is currently a member of the Linn County Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association and the American Bar Association. He is currently a member of the Title Standards Committee of the Linn County Bar Association, and is the past chairman of that committee. He is a member of the Taxation Section, the Probate and Trust Law Section, the Agricultural Section and the Real Estate and Title Law sections of the Iowa Bar Association and is a member of the Taxation Section of the American Bar Association. Mr. Ogden is also a member of the Cedar Rapids Area Estate Planning Council.
Mr. Ogden graduated with honors from Drake Law School in 1976 where he was a member of the Order of the Coif. While at Drake he was on the staff of the Drake Law Review. Mr. Ogden is a 1970 graduate of Grinnell College with a B.A. degree in physics.
Mr. Ogden is married with two grown daughters.
