Simmons Perrine Returns To Its Downtown Cedar Rapids Offices
Our Cedar Rapids office reopened July 17 and we will continue to serve clients both from our office at U.S. Bank in Cedar Rapids and the Clock Tower Plaza in Iowa City. During the period from June 11 to July 17, we used the Mt. Vernon Middle School as our main office. We were fortunate to move our servers before the evacuation of the downtown area, so we have continued to have email and network access for all but about 8 hours during the past five weeks. While in Mt Vernon, we set up our computer network and phone system so we hope you received the high level of service we aim to provide our clients. We are proud of our staff and lawyers for continuing to provide a high level of service during the flood, and we hope you were not inconvenienced by our relocations and moves.

Original Wills Safe, Dry, and Secure
SIMMONS PERRINE PLC wishes to make known that all original wills in its custody are safe, dry, and secure. On Wednesday, June 11, 2008, Simmons Perrine PLC attorneys and staff removed all such documents from the vault of the US Bank and relocated them to a secure location in our offices in the top four floors of the building, where all such documents remain safe and dry. Many of such signed documents also exist electronically as PDF files in the Simmons Perrine computer system, and the firm will take steps to make sure all older wills not currently backed up electronically are added to the computer system in the coming weeks and months.

Simmons Perrine plans to resume normal operations in its Cedar Rapids office on or about July 14, 2008. The firm currently is operating from a temporary office in Mount Vernon, Iowa, and from its Iowa City, Iowa office.

If you have an inquiry regarding any wills or estate planning documents on file with Simmons Perrine PLC, please direct inquiries to Paul Morf at pmorf@simmonsperrine.com, or at (319)366-7641.
Message from Simmons Perrine Regarding Operations Following Cedar Rapids Flooding
Clients, Colleagues and Others,

As most of you know, Cedar Rapids experienced devastating and unprecedented flooding this past week. Fortunately, as a result of advanced technology and our Iowa City location, we have been able to continue to service clients. Our Iowa City office remains open and fully functional, and most, if not all, of our attorneys, are available remotely via internet, Blackberries and cell phones.

Unfortunately our downtown Cedar Rapids offices are currently closed. We are fortunate to have no damage to our 10th-12th floor offices, but at this time do not have a definite timetable for returning to our downtown offices. We are in the process of setting up temporary offices. In the meantime our attorneys are working from client locations, our Iowa City office, temporary office space, or from home.

Simmons Perrine is "open for business." We are able to handle all your legal matters plus any special needs caused by the flooding.

Our main office number (319-366-7641) is being answered by someone during office hours and messages are being forwarded. Our Iowa City number 319-887-1368 is being answered by our staff.

Our direct dial phone numbers and voice mail currently are not working. Here is a list of contact numbers for all of our attorneys. We are all available via cell or home phones and most have access to e-mail.

Our hearts go to out to all who have been impacted by the flood. We appreciate the thoughts and kind words from our friends outside of the Cedar Rapids area. Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Thanks.
